sjordan2
I did a little digging and it turns out the builder, Wolfgang Dell, is a professional custom knifemaker and engraver. His website shows his facilities and his knives (if you don't speak German, you won't learn a whole lot here). Couldn't find any info on model cars. http://www.dell-knives.de/pub/page.asp?l=de&id=3&id2=
Jim Gibbons
Holy smokes! Way over the top. Amazing model of one of my favorite MBs. I do prefer the SSK with the full fenders, etc., though, mainly for the aesthetics. The L (Leicht for "light") version is still really neat, though. Jantrix
One would wonder if you are going to go through all that work to build something 1:4 scale, how much more work would it have really been to make it 1:1? Awesome work though.

Awesome work though. Check these out. Custom made one-of-a-kind scale model pedal cars, 1:2.5. Built in 1997 by a father and son in Duisburg, Germany. Only factory made pieces are the headlights, wheels and tires. http://dfwelitetoymuseum.com/special-rare-toys/1928-mercedes-benz-ssk/ Edited August 26, 2010 by sjordan2

Jim Gibbons
Bist du ein Berliner? (like JFK was)... As a humorous aside, in German, the article (ein) isn't used in the context of which city you're from. JFK should have said, "Ich bin Berliner!" If I recall, ein Berliner is some sort of pastry. Of course, the Germans knew what JFK meant, and not that he considered himself a jelly roll!

Awesome work though. That's exactly what I was thinking.....it's almost as much work to make everything out of brass in FULL scale, and it is in 1/4.....even easier for the nuts and bolts!!!
