LAone Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 no prob, cars1206. jimmy, i forgot to hit up wheelman. gotta get on that. oh and thanks for the tip on the MS flocking. worked out great. take a look below and let me know what you think. combined both pewter and black to get the right look. well i have a 4 day weekend coming up, so ill be a bit busy on this. like i have been so far. got it re-coated with paint, flocked the interior, made a new exhaust, foiled the trim and where the lights will be going. well here are the pics. here i color sanded, rubbed and waxed. not perfect, but it's my first time trying it out. new exhaust interior flocking, now this is the best i have done. being that the last time i flocked an iterior was more than 10 years ago! some brake work for the front, not done yet. last thing i did, BMFed the trim
CrewDawg15 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I should have checked here first...I asked the flocking question in the SPC thread I like the MS flocking and you cannot beat the price. I just bought up a bunch to pack way with my modeling supplies. Looks really good Luis Jimmy
LAone Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 haha, its alright jimmy. yeah, cant beat that price. i picked up some of the brown and the dark blue. they didnt have the white one though. heres a bit of an update. drivers seat, there is a passenger seat. just forgot about a pic.. decided to brush a coat of semi flat black to the wats. and now, the carbon hood. it's not done, i plan to shoot some smoke and then some clear as well. hope it goes good.
doublejuggs Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Love the detail round the arches nice touch. this is looking so cool now cant wait to see it finished.
LAone Posted November 30, 2010 Author Posted November 30, 2010 thanks juggs. just a small update on how it went with the smoke and clear.
CrewDawg15 Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 While I'm not a fan of CF, it does look good Luis. Is that Modellers CF? The weave looks good. If so I might have to pick more up when I get back across the pond. Jimmy
LAone Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 thanks jimmy, its actually SMS cf. now i just got to find some good pics of the restored logo.
LAone Posted December 4, 2010 Author Posted December 4, 2010 got some of the interior going. made a 4 point harness from an old hasegawa kit i had lying around. its a PITA to work with cause it has an adhesive backing on the harness material. also painted the muffler rubber black, it gives it that old school fujitsubo exhaust look. probably will paint the piping as well. i also added a little extra detail on the passenger seat, look closely and you see the adjuster knobs and the lever to move the seat forward for back seat passengers. thanks for looking.
LAone Posted December 8, 2010 Author Posted December 8, 2010 hey, a small update. i almost have this done. just need to finish up the interior to get the body mounted. the chassis is now standing on its own wheels.
Casey Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Love the sketched swagon. I've got this one on the to do pile along with another '77 GT, as I built one as a (semi-)replica of my second car, a '77 GT liftback. It's a shame we never got the smiley bumpers past '75 stateside.
LAone Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 thanks casey. well got a lit busy tonigt. and the result is this it's just about to turn over and say done! just a couple more details.
Gary Davis Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 That is a good looking Celica Luis. I've got a few of these kits as I want to build two of them as owner cars. The third as a short track Asphalt Racecar. Your craftmanship on this build is Great. It put a smile on my face...
Adam deCoste Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 wow that looks really good!!!!! this is my 1/1 car
LAone Posted December 19, 2010 Author Posted December 19, 2010 thanks everyone. its done now http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39094

TheAzza1488 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 What model was that KE70 DX Corolla? Thanks.
gunner Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Nice job, I liked how you did the underside for texture.
LAone Posted January 15, 2011 Author Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) thanks guys. i appreciate the comments. it sits in the under glass section. probably a few pages back now. theres the link under the blurry pic. the kit is an actual 1970 celica by hasegawa. not modded ke70 kit. thanks again.
