Railfreak78 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 This is exactly why one mans garbage is another mans treasure. I get flack for restoring kits that would normally find the dumpster and you just showed everyone how to make it over and make it shine! Nice job!
W-409 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Yes, exellent save! This was very bad looking on the first pictures on the workbench, but now I can't believe that this is the same car! Very good job restoring this Chevelle, but what kit is this....? '72 Chevelle, I have not ever seen a kit from '72 Chevelle or I've been eyes shut... But that painjob looks very nice, rally wheels are the perfect choice for this! Engine detaliling looks very great too. Very good job, have to say that you build these very fast!
RodneyBad Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Wow!! What a save job. Looks as good as new now.. Great looking Chevelle.. and a Great looking Save.. Let me know when your looking for another project to save. I got loads of them

AMT did a 72 Chevelle, I tink this is that kit. Nice work.
David G. Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Excellent save! The engine detail is nice with the wiring and AC unit, etc. AMT did a 72 Chevelle, I tink this is that kit. Nice work. I have one of these kits that I plan to build as a replica of the 1:1 I used to own back east... complete with body damage and rusted fenders. I'm still looking for a good Corvette dual quad 427 to put in it. All I can seem to find are the small block dual and tri-power 327s. The kit I have has a cowl induction hood and yours seems to have a stock hood, like the one on my 1:1. I wonder if there were two (or more)different issues of the kit? Regards, David G.

I think some of my best builds were models that others had cast off as junk! I seem to enjoy the challenge of rebuilding an old builtup more than building a new kit! Great job on the 72 Velle!
ewaskew Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 That is a great wreck,to a cool ride build. It came out very nice.
Greg Cullinan Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Chevelles were my favorite car when I was a kid. Except I wanted it black primer back then. Nowadays I'd like one like this. Beautiful car and awesome build. The air cleaner makes the engine compartment for me.
MyBradKeselowski Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 AMT did a 72 Chevelle, I tink this is that kit. Nice work. MPC did a 72 Chevelle also... Great outcome on the Chevelle looks great
Space Cowboy Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 Thanks for all the kind words thats what building is all about and having fun.....
