Tommy Kortman Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 (edited) I have had this kit on the shelf and half finished for over a year. It was delayed because I was procrastinating about finishing the wheels. Yes, I know i could have used those stupid wheel covers, but the BBS wheels look so nice. Plus, I really don't like those dumb wheel covers on any car. I know they are aerodynamically better, and i know that most cars ran them but...MY CAR MY RULES Anyway I was able to finish the wheels after a good buddy of mine (and fellow board member), Ariel Hernandez purchased some Kosutte Ginsan (at least I think that's the name. It's the only English on the whole box.)from Japan. This is a black powder that buffs up to chrome as you rub in on the gloss black base coat. (I think it would probably work over any base cost color) It is fantastic stuff. I am amazed! The car is painted with Tamiya rattle can bright orange. The car is a curbside with no motor provided. I built it out of the box with only a scratch built set of seat belts(which you cant see ) and some Scale Motorsport Hi-def carbon fibre decals around the rear defuser. I hope you like it. Here's a closer look at the wheels. Edited September 11, 2010 by Tommy Kortman
diymirage Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 thats a great looking car ive always been a fan of the jagermeister rides and this one is no different good call on the BBSs they look great (here a post on that powder you used) http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28780 any chance you could send a few grams of it my way ?
Foxer Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Yay 956! Nice looking build and I agree on the wheels. Yours look SO much better than those huge disks!
MADmodelDOCTOR Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Great job! I'd like to build one of these. What kit and decals are they? later
Tommy Kortman Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 Great job! I'd like to build one of these. What kit and decals are they? later It is the Revell of Germany kit. Built straight out of the box.
Jon Cole Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 dominates racing, and your build looks great!
935k3 Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Very nicely done. Although stupid Revell got the type of Porsche wrong, it is a 962C not a 956.
slowbird Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 That's super clean and nice. I love the wheels, glad you didn't cover them up. I wish I had like, 20 sets of those wheels just to put on every kit I build.
Brett Barrow Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 (edited) Very nicely done. Although stupid Revell got the type of Porsche wrong, it is a 962C not a 956. Yep, it's a 962. It's a Hasegawa re-box as well. The real Jagermeister 962C is much different than standard 962's, which are only subtly different than 956's. I guess Revell patterned it after the Jagermeister 956 and called it such to cash in on the German sponsor in the home market. Anyway you slice it, it's a nice looking model, right or wrong Edited September 15, 2010 by Brett Barrow
