Zed Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 (edited) After seing Bill Stillwagon's Sharkillac, a Revell '57 Cad with chezoom roof grafted on, i was so impressed that i've found that that roof would be a great idea to save the goofy heller '58 Caddy i've bought a few months ago for a buck on e-bay... looks kool huh ? Zed Posted February 22, 2007 Author Posted February 22, 2007 (edited) Thank you Jaffa ! As you can see on the previous pics, i was thinking of keeping the stock chromed bumpers, but they don't look very realistic...think they gonna ruin the look ! :? But, i really like the look of the rear well well that end in the rear bumper in sort of bumperettes, so i choose to us the rear bumper welded to the body, as a roll pan and then building a front roll pan too ... i glue the bumper on the body, and sand the license plate holder smooth.. man, it look kinda odd, something just don't work ... let slim it with a saw... some sanding, putty, sanding...and a recessed license plate now, let's go for a matching front end ! : 8) the roll pan from amt 58 Chevy had the shape i want but ... d'oh ! too short ! :? no problem, two roll pan would do the trick ! 8) ok, now, let's apply body filler, and prime ... start taking shape ! Edited July 17, 2008 by Zed
Steve H. Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Very nice work! Sinking the rear bumper in was a great way to clean up the rear. Too bad you couldn't have saved the ovals, they added some interest. The front end is classic clean lines!
bob paeth Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 ooooooohhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Ths is one of the best customs to grace the pages of this site. To steal a quote from MacDonalds, " I'm lovin' it ". I wouldn't do another thing to it except to add a little paint. This is my tye of custom work. bob
Matt T. Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 YESSSS! Nicely done. I like the new bumper treatments.
Len Geisler Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Nice work....That needs a trip into some rubber.....
Zed Posted March 14, 2007 Author Posted March 14, 2007 (edited) some news.. I lenghtened the fins just a bit ... I wanted to keep the glass from chezoom, so i needed to rescribe the doors. For that, i used the shape of the door from a 56 t-bird patterned on masking tape .... before : during : and after : for that result ...Baaaaaad ! hope you stil like it ! Edited July 19, 2008 by Zed
gowjobs Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 I like it, but I'm not sure about the rear door line - makes it look a little overweight somehow. Have you considered taking about 3/32" - 1/8" off the bottom edge of the rockers? That and getting it up to ride height might help alleviate the "just had a huge pasta dinner" look it seems to have right now. That doesn't mean I don't dig the car - just going a little Gustavson on you.
LDO Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Zed- That's a beautiful Cadillac you've got there. Really smooth. I'm not familiar with the "Sharkillac". Do you have photos of it?
cruz Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 WOW! That thing looks intimidating, very good body work and lines........
bigblock10 Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 i love it... makes me want to build it in scale..
bulldog Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 beautiful job - alot of work - can't wait to see it completed.

Or is it the 1/32? not sure of the scale, 1:24 or 1:25 because there nothing written on the box, but definetely not 1:32 It's multi piece body, not very accurate, a reedition fron the 50's i guess
RodBurNeR Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 looks like a '58 to me? no matter though, cuz ya did an outstanding job on both! my favorite thing about the custom is the smoothing, very nice!
