Hey guys ,

I have seen some really nice bulldozer and tank builds recently and really want to get one to put on a low loader trailer behind one of my trucks. The only problem is that I cant find any so I was wondering if any of you guys can name some of the companies that make dozers or tanks in 1/24 or 1/25 scale. I have looked on ebay but cant find any at the moment from Australian sellers and as I dont like pay pal it limits what I can get. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated, thanks, Codie.

AMT did a Caterpillar D8H and John Deere 310 Backhoe Loader in 1/25. I'm not sure if they're in production right now, but they should be fairly available.

Those were last released in 2002, if I remember correctly. The Cat Dozer would be better bought in an earlier release that actually has "Cat D8 bulldozer" on the box, because that last issue of it that just has "bulldozer" on the box art has no Cat or D8 markings.

Also, in the way of tanks, I believe Tamiya makes a couple WWII vintage tanks in 1/25 scale, but I'm unsure of prices or latest releases.

Tamiya, Toystar, Modelcraft, and Academy all make 24th/25th scale tanks. ModelCraft and Toystar both have the British Centurion MBT in 25th scale. Tamiya,Academy and Toystar do make WWII era tanks, German, and Russian, but there are no kits avalable for modern tanks(Except the Centurion)Like the Abrams, or Germanys MBT. Like I said, Franklin Mint offers the Abrahms in die cast 24th scale, VERY nice model. About 200.00 bucks. The rest of these can be had at less or around a hundred bucks. i don't know if you can find them in OZ, but since your closer to Japan than we are, I would IMAGINE you could get them at reasonable prices. Hope this helps somehow.:D;)

Thanks a bunch for your replies on this one guys, I should be able to ask the guys at my regular hobby shop to try and locate one now that I have something to go on. Mike, thanks for teasing me with that dozer on ebay,LOL. That would be ideal. Highway, the later release Cat D8 you mentioned could probably be found easily enough too and with a bit of work could be corrected with a bit of time and patience. Thanks again. Codie

No problem Codie, the later release itself is the same as the one Mike teased you with on ebay, just without the Cat or D8 markings to go on it, so the only corrections you'd have to make to it is finding the earlier decals to make it a true Cat D8. :D

Buy the later (cheaper) kit and paint it in Military colors!:P
