I am surprised that I didn't see the Munster Koach and the Drag-u-la on this list. After the Monkeymobile, I think these two are the most well know......well ok, Kitt was pretty well known too. I know I am dating myself (I am 61) but how about Ed "Kookie" Burns Rod?.....The Grabowski (spelling?) Rod. :(

Now that's a name I haven't heard in years- Norm "woo woo" Grabowski. One of the first of the kookie T- bucket rods.

I may have overlooked them, but did we already mention the James Bond Aston Martins and the Toyota 2000 GT? Also, Purdey's TR7 and Gambit's XJS from The New Avengers. Then there is the Seibu Keisatsu series by Aoshima, a Nissan Patrol with a tank trailer and several undercover police Skylines and Gazelles. The Cyber Formula race cars, the WAVE Nemo's car from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the Bandai 1/20 Dekotoras from this Japanese trucker series, the Aurora Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

I also suggest to open two new threads:

- Kits which CAN be built into TV/Movie cars/trucks

- TV/Movie cars/trucks which SHOULD be kitted

the Taurus Eric mentioned was from Robo Cop

Oops, brain fart.

I've actually never watched Robo Cop or any of the Terminator movies all the way through... Was too busy playing in the woods, or with Hot Wheels when the movies were new, and have never really had much interest in them as a teen or adult.

XXX's gto.......

forgot that one tooooo..

Wasn't there a Corvette from XXX too?

Still waiting for a Starsky and Hutch Gran Torino in 1/24 or 1/25 scale. AMT/ERTL produced a 1/18 diecast of this one, so at some point they had figured out the licensing. Unsure why they haven't pushed forward to produce it in plastic. Modelers would jump all over it like a hobo on a ham sandwich.

And for a more recent movie, why not the other Gran Torino prominently featured in film?

I mean, this is Clint Eastwood's car! I want to build it!

that seems to be the only XXX kit i can find B) i've wanted the GTO kit for a few years already and have not found a single one at the shows i've been to, but have found several of the Corvette kits.

Dave

I think AMT did to an XXX branded '67 GTO, but it was little more than a warmed-over retread of the already run into the ground '67 GTO kit. The 'Vette had some kind of trashcan shaped thingie to mount in the side window and a "Skateboarding is a Crime" bumper sticker decal, but other than that, it was just a reissue of the '98 Vette roadster kit.

Well, why something was kitted or not, can have a multitude of reasons. With TV/Movie stuff my first suspicion would be that no licensing agreement could be made.

Anyway, I think I remember another kit:

The MPC Jesse Hawk Mustang.
