Kaleb Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 (edited) This is going to be a slow build since i'm shooting for a more realistic car. Here is the first part I have began on the body work. Im looking for some good rims for it i would like some close to the ones on my 1:1 but that may be impossible. Edited November 22, 2010 by Kaleb
exesivefire Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 This is going to be a slow build since i'm shooting for a more realistic car. Here is the first part I have began on the body work. Im looking for some good rims for it i would like some close to the ones on my 1:1 but that may be impossible. Pegasus made wheels like that, if you can fit the 23" spacers in there you would be able to recreate that wheel quite well.
Eric Stone Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 The Revell Subaru WRX has a set of those exact wheels with a 5-lug pattern, around 19mm (19" in 1/25, 18" in 1/24).
Kaleb Posted October 1, 2010 Author Posted October 1, 2010 Ah, well I have those on that car lol, Guess ill just swap some around.
exesivefire Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 here is what I was talking about http://stores.scaledreams.com/-strse-630/19%22-Chrome-Beemers/Detail.bok with the 23 inch sleeve you would have a good clone of that wheel..
Kaleb Posted October 4, 2010 Author Posted October 4, 2010 That would be great, now its just getting it lol, My anniversary trip is coming up so i cant buy anything. Will the sleeves help give me an offset? I have a deep dish in the back with reg, in front. I got some more work done that i will post tonight, if i get the chance.
whale392 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 If you say you want a more realistic build, I would get the 19" sleeves and make a pair of XS Tuning wheels or the Revell Tuner Acura/Subaru centers fit them. the 23" sleeves will give it a severe 4x4 stance without major surgery to the wheelwells/engine compartment/backseat area (ask me how I know). I like the idea you have here; check out either Tiger Racing or Maier Racing for some killer ideas. Steeda and Agent47 also have some cool stuff to look at, and don't forget Griggs Racing. (yes, Maximum Motorsports has an SN as well)
Kaleb Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 Getting them molded in I am going for more of the Cobra Cowl hood if I can. The pictures don't show off many of the lines As far as the wheels go I want to lower the car 2" so I am debating on what to do.
Jordan White Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 If you felt like doing a little scratchwork, you could take 2 of those Pegasus wheels, and cut out the centers. Then you can trim them up a bit and move them towards the center to give yourself a deep dish look.
Kaleb Posted November 16, 2010 Author Posted November 16, 2010 Been awhile since I have updated, Progress is slow. Here are some new updates, Shocks, that work Springs Body work Optima battery and front shocks I need to make another battery this one seems too small and the lid is not what I want it to be.
whale392 Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Kaleb, the wheels you are looking to replicate are a very close match for Pegasus Hobbies 'Beemer' style wheel. Unfortunately, the Beemer is a 19" wheel with NO lip, so you will have to make a front lip for it.
Kaleb Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 I had just found some on ebay just a few days ago and did not even thing about it.
whale392 Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 This should give you an idea of what the 'Beemer' wheel from Pegasus would look like with a sleeve (this is a Pegasus 23" sleeve, but since these wheels are 19" they could be machined, quite a bit I will add, to fit into a 19" Pegasus sleeve so that they would have a lip).
