Thank you Tim for your words on the TurboCoupe. It will wear scratchbuilt coil-overs (at the show), scratchbuilt 3 Link rear suspension (also at the show), scratchbuilt Watts Link rear-end locator, and a host of other goodies. The rim centers are finally finish-modified and ready to resin cast, and the front 21" sleeves are back at the machinist to have the 'oops, we forgot' .040" machined out of the inner wheel lip area.

The engine will stay a 2.3 Turbo, but will wear the Volvo B234F DOHC conversion (just like my 1:1 1984 Mustang GT Turbo). I will show pics and thread this car when I have more done to it and more to report.

And thanks to you and your fellow modelers who 31 years ago did decide to have the 'primer' table at your gathering. That was one of (if not THE) deciding factor for me to go to the NNL.

Thanks for the pics, Tim. The only sensory item missing are the taste of NNL bars.

I have missed three times in a row, now. I really want to get back. Maybe next year!

Andy,,,Karen had her NNL bars there....but they went really quickly.

We missed you (again)....sure hope you can make it next year. Let us know what you'd like to see as a cult theme topic....TIM

Guys....maybe I'm missing something here. For all 31 years of the NNL Nationals (and I've photographed all but a few of them in the late 1980's), we've always relied on people putting their own name on their entry slips. If I've been misled then I apologize.

Accordingly, can someone please explain who the actual builder is and provide proof of your statement?

Thanks....TIM

Hi Tim my name is D.J. (djsmadplastic)I dont know who wrote those comments but they are correct. I did build the motors in Greg Talors cars. the 2009 camarow was my build 2 yrs ago. The 55 nomad body & motor is also my design. Why or if greg said he built them is beyond me. I dont understand why.He could have at least mentioned that i built those paticular items for him. Once i get my pics downloaded I will send them to you.Do you a e-mail address i can send to you? Or check out my album now that i set up with M.C.M. still working on it. thanks for listening. By the way there are some fantastic builders on this site!Looking forward to seeing more.Thanxxx again D.J.(Good Grief)

Thanks D.J., I had already updated my original post (the first post in this thread) a couple of days ago with this information. You can reach my privately through this web site (not exactly sure how to do this, but others do it on occasion so there must be a way); I'd love to see your build book. And by the way, both you and Greg do some really nice work! TIM

Thanks tim for responding. I'm having trouble loading up my pics thru photobucket. All my pics are to large to download. Or I just dont know how to do it. 40 yrs old & just learning how to use the computer.

D.J,

Thank you for clarifying this subject. It appears that names and models do not always go together as they should, and it is a noticed thing when you attend a lot of shows that these models are at.

Thanks for the pics Tim! Lots of cool stuff. It was a real flashback to see those twin tall T's that Denny Johnson built! I remember that issue of Car Model when he showed how to do it. The early to mid seventies was a great time for modeling. At least I have fond memories of those years. I got lots of throphies.....

Hans....always great to hear from you. Alas, never made it over to Stockholm during my visits to Volvo, and for obvious reasons, probably won't be going there in the future. Hope all is well....TIM

Who were the winners?

Anthony Rios, "Mr. Biggs" won Best of Show, and it was his First "Triple Crown". He has won all three NNL'S in ONE YEAR! NO ONE ELSE has done that!!! CONGRATULATIONS, Tonio!!!! YOU DA MAN!!!!!!!;) ;) :);)
