Car Crazy 81 Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I'd got this one from my stepuncle along with 12 other kits i'd figured i would rebuild this one since it was built 20 years ago so its time to restore it. I had to practically sand down the whole body to eliminate all of those nasty Testors glue marks. Once it was nice and smooth i'd primed the body with Krylon Ruddy Brown primer. Im ditching the kits Flathead in favor of a Chevy 283 ci engine from a Revell 64 Chevy Pickup.
Car Crazy 81 Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 More updates on the 40 i'd painted the bed & fenders the cab needs some filling before the Gold Rush paint is applied.
71datsun1200 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I'M A BIG FAN OF ANYTHING WITH FATFENDERS BUT THE PICK UPS ARE MY FAVORITES. YOUR TRUCK IS GOING TO LOOK SICK.
W-409 Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 That cab would work fine like a rat style. It looks lil' rusty/ dirty right now, it would be cool. But before you paint it, it would be nice to see that you grave those panel lines back. Now they are gone away because of sanding, or it looks like it... Nice project you got going there anyways, keep it up.
