exesivefire
was inspired by a build in this past December issue, when I saw it on the cover, I bought that mag out of curiosity and it was one of the deciding factors of me recently picking back up the hobby. love the overall look of that build, so I decided to build it, but want to add my own flair. The basics. Revell 32 5 window kit chopped up the rear of the chassis, replaced crossmember and rear axle from the revell 40 ford kit. rear tires from AMT 66 riviera, fronts from lindburg 53 ford, lucked out that the whitewall inserts from the 53 fit into the Riviera tires, so I am able to use the wheels from the 53 kit as well. Paint is drying on the motor, but it is the caddy motor from the revell 49 merc kit, with the manual trans from the 32 kit just like the magazine build. Ill post pics of the motor and color tomorrow. today, we see the overall stance. thanks for looking

DRG
I love these old style models as there seems to be more oppurtunity for customizing and hot rodding. This one is looking great, keep her going.
exesivefire
Progress stalled on this one because I had a bit of a fit with the paint, so I sanded it all down, reprimed and smoothed out the roof while I was at it. Second try at the paint is drying now, should have picture updates soon. Edited December 11, 2010 by exesivefire
exesivefire
Finally picked this one back up, after two failed attempts at the paint, I walked away from it for a while. Picked up another kit to steal the body from. For some reason this thing did not want to get painted. but after a small fight with the roof on body number two, we now have paint!
