Smart-Resins Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Very nice.I am working on a 1/16street version.I find it rather amusing that they take a sports car and turn it into a dune jumper.LOL It is nice modeling and great weathering though!!
ismaelg Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 The weathering looks GREAT! Do you have more details on how you did that? I need to do something similar to that on an upcoming project.
simonr Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Pretty cool model!...is this the Gunze Sangyo? Simon
ViperDave Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 The weathering looks GREAT! Do you have more details on how you did that? I need to do something similar to that on an upcoming project. I used Testors acrylin enamel paint ( Armor Sand FS 30277 ). I thinned it down to about 25-35% paint and the other part was water. I sprayed it through the airbrush about about 40 lbs and only used a little bit of paint and sprayed it from about 6 inches. I have a real pic of the porsche when it was racing so I looked to see where the most dirt was. This is my first attempt and weathering.
ViperDave Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 Pretty cool model!...is this the Gunze Sangyo? Simon Yes it is. Testors sold a 959 street version that has most of the same parts but the wheels are smaller and it isn't as jacked up like the rally version.
Matt T. Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 First attempt at weathering? You nailed it! Looks perfect to me.
