Dave Mikrut Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I am being evaluated weekly as to my therapy progress. I have made some big improvements in a short time. I'm able to dress myself and shower with assistance getting dried off. My transfers to and from my wheelchair are real good. I am walking with a combination walker with a built on elbow rest with assistence. I can move my thumb and index finger but cannot grip yet. I am able to sit upright and also pull myself up to a sitting position in bed.My arm and lg motions have improved from zero to maybe 30 percent. I am always doing the best I can. When they say give me 10, I give them 13.. I want the best recovery I possibly can. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, they mean so very much to me. I am still un sure of what future results or continued therapy is in store but I will do my best to keep you informed.
crazyjim Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 You keep doing your best and hang in there, Dave.
High octane Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Dave, Keep your chin up and continue to have a good attitude and push yourself. Sounds like you're off to a good start. No matter what,a person can dream and wish all they want, but it won't happen unless they make it happen. Best of luck to you.
mikemodeler Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Keep at it and things will get better. Sounds like you have the mental part of the situation figured out, just keep up the hard physical therapy work and you will be back building before you know it. Hearing your story should be a reminder to us that life isn't fair and some have it worse than others, no matter what we think. Keep us posted!
