Jim B Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Is it available yet? I thought Dave was still working on the molds.
freightshaker Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 O im not sure I thought it was available because it was in their catalog. So I figured it was. You could be right Jim it might not be. Mopar your best bet might be to check in with them and see.
Mr mopar Posted October 26, 2010 Author Posted October 26, 2010 I'm now on Dave's list for one of these awesome trucks.
freightshaker Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Yea they were a cool ride. I know theyre boxy looking but the Marmon 110" cabover was a neat truck too.

Jim B Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 I'm now on Dave's list for one of these awesome trucks. Looks like I need to get on the list. Wonder what would be a good doner kit.
Mr mopar Posted October 27, 2010 Author Posted October 27, 2010 Looks like I need to get on the list. Wonder what would be a good doner kit. Thats a good question Jim , maybe the italeri freightliner could work?
Jim B Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Not sure, but I doubt it. The Italeri Freightliner is 1/24, & I'm pretty sure the AITM Marmon 57P cab is 1/25. Maybe the AMT International 4300 or Paystar kits. Here's a little incentive: Marmon Trucks
cowboysevens Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 heres a marmon hood kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250667991292&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT im purdy sure this guy offers the 110" cabover also dennis
freightshaker Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 See thats the CHDT hood which was an early marmon. Im not sure what a donor kit would be for that, it says peterbilt 359 for a donor but if you look up one of these trucks they had a typical marmon design real boxy looking conventional cab almost looks like an international cab.
clayton Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 http://modeltrucks.pcfox.net/Marmon/marmon.html Did Frank ever get back in too casting? Last time I talked/email'ed him I order one the last few kit's he had at the time about 5 years ago.
chuckyr Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Did Frank ever get back in too casting? Last time I talked/email'ed him I order one the last few kit's he had at the time about 5 years ago. Gortsema sold out to RNK. RNK sold out to AITM. AITM has a back log of unreleased resins. From MT&FA to Illini. He is remasterig most and casting them in a modern resin. He is a one person operation.
Jim B Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I thought Illini was casting his own stuff, but Dave just hosting the gallery.
Mr mopar Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 I hope Dave's castings of the Marmon p-57 turn out better then the old ones Frank did, They were to thick!
ap40rocktruck Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 I hope Dave's castings of the Marmon p-57 turn out better then the old ones Frank did, They were to thick! The patterns for the P-57 conventional are nearing completion. When i (RNK) bought out Frank Gortsema, the pattern he was using had a thick hood & a smoothed out KW cab......So i started over. Then life got in the way & RNK was closed, I sold it to Dave at AITM. Now i am just making patterns for AITM. So the P-57 patterns are all new, from scratch. Separate hood & cab, cut outs for dual air cleaners. Boththe early pointed grille & bumper as well as the later flat grille & bumper. As for a donor kit, just about any conventional kit or scratch chassis will work, although the 1/24 scale Italeri chassis suits it the best. I do have several more cab kits that were originally going to be in the RNK line, that will be done & added to the AITM line. As for Dave casting ILLINI kits, Not at all, he does host the Illini (IRC) line thru a link on his web site. AP40rocktruck
Ben Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 That's great news Rick! I have been wanting those Marmon's and have been waiting for them to be corrected.
