Poncho-Power Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 hey all i just got this kit today....pretty excited about it, now i have almost 2 complete 1981 AMT datsun 280zx turbos just missing some pieces from the already built kit ie. headlights, left wheel spindle, muffler but looking at what i have now i may be able to make things work so now.
Corvette.Jeff Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 always had a soft spot for these cars, i used to have a 83' 280zx turbo.
wisdonm Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Ah yes, great memories. Plenty of room for a V-8 and the turbo dif will take it. Make it an '82 like mine. Paint the stainless B pillars black (factory), add headlight covers, paint the bumpers body color and run the black stripe around the face (factory), and add a Z-28 style rear spoiler. Oh that's me, my son, wife, and 'ol blue at a BMW Club ice trial in '86. I took 1st in the over 2.5 liter rear wheel drive class.

Poncho-Power Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 i am letting my wife choose the colour, and i think i may keep the turbo engine from the kit in it, although i have 2 of them now i could throw a V8 in it....i have a good one from a el camino kit that amt released a few years back that i got from Walmart in the AMT 4 packs
whale392 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I have that kit (almost finished too). Great kit and was/is fun for me to build.
Nick Winter Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 LOL no way I just bought yesterday the Original Release of that kit, glad someone else is interested in them.
Poncho-Power Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 yeah a friend of mine gave me my first 280zx about 2 months ago, i took it apart and it seemed to be a really nice kit, so now the one i just got seems to be the same, well casted parts and such, i am really excited about it, although the one i got from my friend is missing some parts i am thinking of a diorama i can make with them. hope to have it done by modelrama here in kingston in May.
Jeff Johnston Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Wow there is a kit I have not seen in years. I can't remember ever building that one.... I wonder how it builds up.
