kustomkat1 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 A while back Dave Burkett (the model king) said that he was working on a new model project with Ernie Petit with his new company Illinois Model Company (IMC) anyone know or seen anything on this? Is it a reissue (old Imc tooling, testors, Jo-Han) or a new tool. thanx.
Longbox55 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I've heard a few rumors, but the few that know what's really going on are sworn to secrecy until they are ready to make the official announcement.
Brett Barrow Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I heard it'll be Jo-Han's '59 Rambler Wagon.
charlie8575 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 1. Any feel for the timing of the official announcement? 2. Does this mean Okey has agreed to sell whatever is left of the Jo-Han tooling that was still usable? I hope that some of the Gold Cup kits, like the Classics and the Turbine Car get re-issued. Rob Hall Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I heard it'll be Jo-Han's '59 Rambler Wagon. Yawn..that was just out a few years ago. Hopefully they can come up with a better idea than that.
The Creative Explorer Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Too bad they are not doing that modern thing; with sneak-pictures. Keeps the minds alive, now there is hardly enthusiasm, at least that is what I notice.
S. Svendsen Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Box art is underway now. The one I'm working on will be a Model King release of a re-issued tool secured by IMC. The official announcement will be in a few weeks.
Eshaver Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Im stepping on toes here probably but any I M C kit was hard to build . There were two kits in my opinion that were almost builable , The Little Red Wagon and Mabye , (UH SCUSE ME Mr. Obsessive Bill ) and then kinda the 48 Fords . As for the Volkswagen, the Ford GTs................ whew.......... that was a loooooooong time ago as in 1966. I don't wish to re-live 1966 anymore Ed Shaver

Chuck Most Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 From what I've read, this new 'IMC' has nothing to do with the old IMC..just coincidentally/confusingly using the same 3 letters. THAT'S certainly not going to cause any confusion. Be that as it may, I'll be keeping a lookout for these. Maybe they'll come up with a less well-traveled name than IMC by the time production actually begins.
