John E. Bowers Jr. Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 (edited) By my new Samsung C7000 55 inch HD/3-D television and 3-D Blu-Ray player accompanied with a true surround sound system, all 1080p 240 HZ. This stuff is amazing. I am not gonna work on a model car until the newness of all this wears off. The 3-D simply blows my mind! Oh, don't worry guys, I'm still in the game but I'm going to be sidetracked for a while. Edited October 31, 2010 by John E. Bowers Jr.
slant6 Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 We sell that at my store. Just out of curiosity, does it hurt your eyes after a while? Also have you tried any 3D gaming?

No signs of eye strain yet, but I've only watched less than an hour of full 3-D so far. I'm not at all into gaming, but I have heard that this tv really rocks with 3-d gamers.
cruz Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Just make sure not to forget us John, you surely build great models!!
Sport Suburban Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 What?? They make 3D TV's!!! I need to get out of my hobbie room more!!
John E. Bowers Jr. Posted October 31, 2010 Author Posted October 31, 2010 Just make sure not to forget us John, you surely build great models!! Thanks Marcos! Don't worry, I have too many kits in my stash that I want to build and there is no way I could abandon this great hobby and the wonerful freinds that come with it. We got the tv not so much for broadcast tv shows, but for sports and blu-ray dvds.
Bruno Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Same happened to me when my GF bought a playstation and guitar hero, builds got sidetraked for a while, but I did come back, I always come back
Jon Cole Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 ...I just don't care a lot for most TV shows as they tend to just annoy me & tax my patience, & that's due to my getting out of the TV watching habit years ago when I worked 2nd & 3rd shift so much. For the most part I usually feel I could be doing something more enjoyable, productive & interactive when I'm watching most TV, & that tends to keep me from getting into it much. I have to agree with most of that. Most people liked Elvis for his music... I admired him because he would shoot his TV when it annoyed him. Now that is entitlement. Anyhow, our 'antique' TV is starting to blink out, so we will be soon upgrading. News and movies are what I am into. With one or two exceptions, everything else is pure garbage. Novacaine for the brain. Just waiting for the best "Black Friday" deal!
peter31a Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Can't get too excited about 3D t.v. Since I don't have binocular vision I get no benefit from 3D. Ticks me off to no end to have to pay extra to go to a 3D movie like Avatar since it looks like every other movie to me. I remember going years ago to IMAX theatres where everyone was using 3D glasses and ooohin and ahhing about the effect but it looked all the same to me. Otherwise I'm not commenting on how much t.v. I watch or computer time... More models would get built if I could ignore them....
Greg Cullinan Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Great buy. Your a lucky man.I definitely want one. I am going to hold out til you don't need glasses for it.It is out already but expensive. Plus I just bought a 55" LED last year. I really enjoy 3d though. I saw a 20'"that you don't need glasses with for $3000.00. My dad is looking at the Samsung 50" 3d with blue ray player and 4 movies for $1400.00 from Bestbuys. I thought that was a good deal.we paid $2300.00 for my LED. Congratulations and enjoy.
