Revell to sponsor "National Model Car Championships"

Whether this turns out to be more promotion than actual model car contest remains to be seen. This release just went out Friday, no more information has been posted on Revell.com or gearztv.com as of today (Sunday night). Was there any mention of this at iHobby Expo? I know Stacey David was listed as one of the "celebrity" guests appearing at the show.

I always knew he liked his toys, since he's done Gearz shows dedicated to Hot Wheels and some diecast, but it's nibe to see he's a builder, too!

Ed Sexton mentioned this to me on Sunday morning at the I hobby expo . This seems to be a for real event as far as he was concerned for next year's event ! The overall turnout for the model cars industry was extremely sad , to say the least at this particular show . Pitiful , would be an understatement !

I was at the iHobby show and saw the signboard that had this same announcement. They also had a signboard that mentioned something about a new marketing campaign that would make them more visible in the media and on social networking sites. I mentioned this on "another" model website and it seemed to fall on deaf ears. At least they are looking at new ways of getting the hobby out there.
