Mike Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 I just wrapped this one up last night. I just have to put the home-made decals on tonight (still drying). This one was a commissioned piece for a local guy. He found me at a local car show and asked me to build a replica for him. The kit is the 35th Anniversary Camaro from Revell with the t-tops hacked off the 98 Ram-air firebird and spliced in to place. Some minor engine bay detailing and small body mod to insert the rear running lights. A real challenge with this one was creating all of the subtle shades of black - flat, semi-gloss, semi-flat, gloss... Real car My 1/24 scale replica
whale392 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 The engine bay in particular looks very realistic; good job at recreating the real car.
davyou5 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Wow ! The whole thing looks realistic! Exceptional Job! .
Fisher61 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I'd say you got the different shades of black just right, this is one beautiful Camaro!
bsoder Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Looks like the 1:1 to me!...really nice work under the hood Mike
Tumbler75 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 As a Camaro fanantic, I have to say you nailed this one perfectly! Great work. You got all the shades of black perfect. Both 1:1 and 1:24th are stunning machines. He will truly be glad to have this on his shelf. Keep up the stunning recreations.
kelson Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Black is a hard color to get right, but you did a great job on it and all the small details.
charlie8575 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Looks nice Mike. Definitely a well-executed build. Charlie Larkin
Mike Posted November 12, 2010 Author Posted November 12, 2010 Thank you guys very much for the compliments. I really did enjoy building this and I HOPE the to-be owner is just as happy when he gets it.
