noname Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Finally got this one done. Made my own glass, added a few decals. This car could have used a name or a sponser but I didn't have anything that would fit the bill. I need to make my own decals!
whale392 Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 I was wondering what happened to this build, as progress stopped in the 'under construction' thread you had going. Looks good done up, and I think it is fine without a sponsor decal cluttering up the bodylines.
W-409 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I like that look with out any sponsors! That is good looking Altered Wheel Base, because the rear axle is not moved too much. Nice job with it, it looks like came straight from AMT's factory...! Nice paintjob on it, stance looks very cool, engine work looks very nice and wheels and tires are just perfect to this one. Nice work with it, I was wondering too, what happened when there came no posts to that WIP- topic. But now it looks very very goood! :(
my name is nobody Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I think it looks terrific just as it sits. those A/FX cars were the greatest. your model turned out really sharp.
1972coronet Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Very nice one-percent'er ( or is it 2%'er ? ) you've built there ! Super clean , and unfettered , just like an indi racer's car would've looked .
whale392 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 With respects, the 2% cars were 1963 only, and had their front wheels slid ahead 2% of the original wheelbase (which is just over 2 inches). I was lucky enough to see a 1963 Plymouth Savoy 2% car at one of the 'Mopars with Big Daddy' shows years ago. This is a 1964 altered car; rear wheels slid ahead roughly 8 inches.
Chuck Most Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I rather like the 'no sponsors' look- maybe some lone wolf could have run something similar back in the day. Most of these had wild colors and graphics- its actually kind of nice to see one in a kind of 'as delivered' form.
noname Posted November 13, 2010 Author Posted November 13, 2010 Thanks for the nice comments guys. Yes this is more than 2%. I can't remember how much but eight inches for the rear tires sound about right. The front wheel openings were also moved forward. I have a Belvedere I want to do sometime a little more extreme.
