Art Laski Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 This is a pretty common Indy Car kit issued around 1989 that I had wanted to build for a little while and at the urging of my son (who recently did the same model) I decided to give it a try. Enjoy! Many more here! http://public.fotki.com/alaski48/lola-t-8800/ Thanks for looking. -Art
ian ashton Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Very nice work. What did you use for painting the exhaust, it looks amazing.
voljeepx Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Looks great, Art! That carbon fiber work on the white paint looks really cool! The Andretti's have always been my favorite racers, and I'm glad to see Marco is continuing the family biz. Nice work!
John Teresi Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Art.......FANTASTIC build..........the detail is AWESOME.......can`t wait to see this in person this weekend......BRAVO buddy.
Art Laski Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 Very nice work. What did you use for painting the exhaust, it looks amazing. Ian, thank you for the nice comments. I used Testors Burnt Metal Metalizer, then sprayed some Tamiya clear blue on the headers and Tamiya clear red and blue mixed together on the front of the out pipes. Then I used a thin wash of a dark grey water-based acrylic (Teresi's formula!) to dull it a bit, then brushed some brown pastel chalk on it. Looks great, Art! That carbon fiber work on the white paint looks really cool! The Andretti's have always been my favorite racers, and I'm glad to see Marco is continuing the family biz. Nice work! Thanks, Ed! Mario was a great driver. Iconic! This was fun to do, but the carbon fiber took a long time. I think it's worth it, though.

Thanks, John! I used your tire tips on this one. I didn't perfect it, but I really like the look. So thanks for sharing with the board! See you Sunday. I'm really looking forward to seeing your cavalcade of builds. They're always amazing. -Art
