I have a engine with the gearbox cut off and i have a aftermarket gearbox, whats the best way to graft them together and make it look good?

It's been quite a while since I did a transmission swap on a model, but the most important tip I can give you is make sure the mating surface of both are square and even. If one is not even, you might have fit issues later because the transmission will not be sittong where it should.

Also, you didn't mention what each were made from, but even if one piece is resin, you will need CA (super) glue to bound them together.

Thanks Matt, once they are glued should i roll a thin bit of putty and put it round where the surfaces meet?

i wouldnt bother with the putty unless you want it to look like it is welded on ;)

whenever i try to mate parts that need to be rigourosly attached i like to drill a hole in both sides and iether superglue a pin in there or a small peice of styrene , knida like a dowel

Right on - if you need putty, you didn't get the mating surfaces flat enough.

I agree. Hears a picture of a transmission swap i've just done. Hope this helps.
