Jantrix Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 I'm thinking gloss silver and flat black Jim. I've got a good feeling.
scalemodelworld Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I love these old muscle cars. Looks like a beautiful build
wraith Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 looking good! How about semi gloss white with some red and black accents?
jcbigpaw Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 How about using the silver paint and do some bomber art and all the panel lines and rivets etc. like an old bomber
Jantrix Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 How about using the silver paint and do some bomber art and all the panel lines and rivets etc. like an old bomber The bomber art is something I'm kicking around but the panel line and rivet thing has been done many, many times, and it's not my style to replicate what has already been done. I'm also considering some sort of tribal design.
Guest Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 One suggestion I have, and I plan on doing it to mine when I build it, is smooth the top of the passenger side over flow box and add just the top of a battery to it to make it look somewhat like a battery. Monogram was famous for doing stuff like that. The '77 Chevy 4X4 has two batterys!
Jantrix Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 (edited) Holy shnikes! I hadn't noticed that. Thanks very much Roger. EDIT- just Google imaged it. There are two reservoirs. One for coolant over flow the other for wiper fluid I'm guessing. However they are much smaller than the molded part. I think I'm going to do what you suggest. Edited December 19, 2012 by Jantrix
Scale-Master Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 The driver's side would be the wiper/washer reservior, the passenger side would be the radiator overflow, at least that is how Chevy built mine... They are both made of the same material.
Ford guy Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Super cool build, looking forward to following along with you. Roy the Ford guy
Jantrix Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 Thanks guys, I'll be hitting it hard this weekend. There really isn't any time consuming work left so getting to paint is pretty likely. More soon.
