Tony T Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 (edited) Excellent, and remember that once you get the hang of it, you'll not be able to stop! Also, show us how they turn out, please. I was at the LHS today, picked up the Oct MCM, and suplies for jackstands...I got 4 down on the bench, 3 need some filing, and 2 need guitar string pins bent...I'll take pics tomorrow... EDIT: Here's a picture of the 4 unpainted stands, which took me about an hour all together to get to here: Edited December 19, 2010 by Tony T
Tony T Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 1 set done, and 2 more have paint drying! And they work! More on the way! You were right, Virgil! Once I started, it was so much fun, I kept going!! I can see making some variations for other stands and such, like transmission supports, and the like! Here they are outside the shop Thanks, Virgil!
Dr. Cranky Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 Tony, you did a great job, buddy. Bravo. Those look great and there's nothing like a body in progress up on those. Congrats.
Tony T Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Thanks, Virgil...I couldn't have done it without ya!
Clay Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) I don't have any round stock, so I used square stock Edited December 22, 2010 by Clay
Terror Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 What happened to this dio. Doc?Haven't seen you use it for photos yet? It is one awesome building.
rmvw guy Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Beautiful!....In an industrial way, can't wait to see the damage you do to it.
rmvw guy Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I loved it since day one. Wow! What a series of photos! Excellent!
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Thanks for bringing this one back. It's all set up and I use it for photographing models whenever I can. It's here, and I still play around with it. I just have to wait for Derrick to finish his Zombie figures so that I can do a few more scenes!
mikemodeler Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) Ah, here's a glimpse of Cranky's humble beginnings . . . back when the Lab-Rat-Ory was in a rural, undisclosed location! Is that the Atlantic Ocean in the background Dr.? Nice view if it is! Absolutely stunning work here, you have the makings of your next book or DVD going on here. EDIT: I just found this post and realized it was from last year! Dr. Cranky, this is one amazing dio! Edited December 13, 2011 by mikemodeler
Dr. Cranky Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 Thanks, Mike. No, that's just a blue backdrop. I was having fun taking pictures of the HO scale mini diorama I built. It was loads of fun.

Dr. Cranky Posted December 15, 2011 Author Posted December 15, 2011 Thanks, Eric. When I did it about two years ago, I was having the time of my life building it. It went up pretty quick.
