drinkone2 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 This one started out as the Revell Germany "Australia" version of the 108" cab. Pretty much box stock with the addition of photoetched stacks and nameplates, and I swapped out the headlights and horns with some from the parts box. The trailer is the reissued Fruehauf flat with a scratchbuilt side kit and tarp which I made from sheet and strip styrene and some matte black vinyl from work. Jim
Zhu Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 A very very nice Rig indeed. The tarp looks just perfect. Did you need to heat the vinyl to get the realistic sagging you have so expertly replicated? Well done, give the man a cigar. Davey.
modelercarl Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 That is perhaps the best truck/trailer build I have seen......very nice!!!
chuckyr Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Nice details. Tractor trailer lines. Are those Photocut nuffler guards?

The vinyl for the tarp is adhesive backed and super thin and it layed down better than I had expected without having to heat it. This is actually the second one I had built so I pretty much had the bugs worked out on the first one. This is the one I built about five years ago based on the Great Dane extendable flat with a 10'-1" spread.

Ben Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 WOW! Both rigs are cooooooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really like the color schemes! Excellent job on the tarps too! How did you cut them to where the lower edge is straight all the way around the trailer?
mackinac359 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Nice! Nothing better than a COE with stripes. Tim
Old Albion Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Jim, Excellent work on both rigs. I wish I could paint stripes like that. The tarp looks increadibly realistic. Very Impressive. Dave
Paul B Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Outstanding COEs! I like the paint jobs and like everyone else said the tarps are fantastic!
