DRG Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 I recently asked what color interior would go with a Marina Blue paint job. I shared all the answers with my wife, Paula. She stepped back, placed her hands on her hips and said," who are you building this model for?" Now having been married for 38 years I knew the answer to that question, " I'm building it for you dear." "Then I want a black and gray interior." Yes dear. I am going to take my time on this one and try my darnedest to get it right. Any and all comments are more than welcome.
crazyjim Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 I believe I suggested a grey interior last week, Don. See, if you would have listened to me, you'd be almost done already.
DRG Posted December 11, 2010 Author Posted December 11, 2010 True enough, but then the wife would be upset with me. 38 years of marriage have taught me a Happy Wife means a Happy Life.
DRG Posted December 11, 2010 Author Posted December 11, 2010 Moving along with the 62 Belair. I like the way the interior came out, a lot. May have to change body color though, marina Blue isn't doing it for me right now. What do ya think guys, a real nice Black seems to be calling.
David G. Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 From what I've seen so far, everything looks good. I would consider shooting a bit of Dull-Coat on the seats. They are a bit too shiney for my tastes. But aside from that, Aces!
DRG Posted December 14, 2010 Author Posted December 14, 2010 Making progress on the Chevy. Thanks for looking, comments pro or con are welcomed.
crazyjim Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Black on a '62 bubbletop is hard for me. I keep seeing a neighbors brand new one with a SS interior. It was Honduras Maroon. The black looks good though. I like the wheels too.
jbwelda Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 looks killer, looks like its going to sit nice too. but yeah, dullcoat on the interior. then you can go back with Future on a Q-tip to "re-gloss" stuff like the steering wheel. you will be surprised how great it will look, and especially if you do a little washing with thinned out black (i use india ink thinned with alcohol). really brings out the details.
