jbwelda Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 nice job on the motor and the car looks awesome. there are actually getting to be some of that style running around lowly sacramento lately, a miata and a couple of datsuns that i have seen just recently. takes some getting used to but i like the look now!
LAone Posted July 15, 2011 Author Posted July 15, 2011 thanks guys. the camber does take some getting use to, well atleast for some.. jb: i think i know which ones you speak of. theres a few guys up in nor-cal running around uber dumped. i know one of them have a miata, he's on one of the 1:1 forums that i go on. im in so-cal and grew up around cars like this, so im already use to it..
Jantrix Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 First off - I think the work is fantastic. Great craftsmanship. Second - What is the purpose of the demon camber? Are you looking for less traction? I guess in a drifter you might be. I saw a 1:1 here in Tampa yesterday. I don't care for the look of it.
LAone Posted July 16, 2011 Author Posted July 16, 2011 @rob: back in the days demon camber was popular in the drift scene. mostly done up front for more traction while drifting. but with this type of camber the car was unstable and unpredictable. now, it's used as a trend for fitting wide, deep offset wheels under the arches. mostly seen on VIP cars and vans in parking lots or shows. there are very few that still use this in the drift scene, most of them AE86's. hope this helps.
Randy D Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Hi Luis, The project looks great!! That radiator casting is sweet How did you do the seatbelts?? Thank you, Randy
LAone Posted January 28, 2012 Author Posted January 28, 2012 wooo, it's been a looong time since i've updated this.. been in a slump for building, life, moving, getting sick, wife is pregnant...ect ect...well im now settling down a bit in our new home. randy, sorry for the superduper late reply. the seat belts were left overs from a eduards PE kit. i dont really like them since they dont look real and the paint flakes off when you bend them. so i made new ones as seen down below. these are made from thin bandage tape. the PE set is from detail master.
CrewDawg15 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Looking good Luis! The seatbelts are a nice touch. Looks like you'll be wrapping this one up soon...then you'll be chasing zombies Jimmy
LAone Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 thanks jimmy. yeah i think this week is the week i finally finish this one. the good thing about the zombie chaser is that it's a year long CB..lols so here a small update from last night. yup, the body is on the chassis now. no more taking it off. here i tried to get a good shot of the wink mirror. added some decals on to it.
