catd11rpusher Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Great job on the detail, where did you get the bolt heads? and all the detail stuff like that? the truck is going to need a ignition key so you can drive it
Sergey Posted September 8, 2011 Author Posted September 8, 2011 where did you get the bolt heads? and all the detail stuff like that? Hey Mike. Which bolt heads do you mean?
Tony Bryan Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Sergey Nice work as usual, but need to ask why the decals? thought it would have been easier to paint the cab, then add the decals as needed, it must be hard to get the cab colour to the chassis I don't have a picture of the cab over clutch set up, only the conventional W model, but it would be on the same sort of set up, with brackets and levers, would be much easier to do hydraulic set up with a slave cylinder Got any more up dates?
Sergey Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) Hey Tony! I can't print white permits in the back bottom corner of the cab, using my jet printer. So I can't figure out another way to safe authenticity here. BUT, here is the result: As you can see, the decal suit the cab well, but main probleme here are air bubbles, sticking between cab and decal. I coulden't release them all. They are marked with red. I already wash the decal off and will ask Jim to make the decal separate for easy to use and print white symbols on ALP printer. Perhaps everyone can buy the set soon. mackinac359 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I've never had a decal stripe not do what yours are doing. I mix acrylic paint to touch up those decal trouble spots. Tim
69A-CAR Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 That is a beautiful stripe job! I can't imagine trying to install a decal that big. Mark
butchey Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Yea but realy Stand back and look at it just makes them look like they wer run lots of miles! I say let them that way!
Truck parts Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 HAVE YOU TRIED DECAL SET? AND THEN MIX UP MATCHING PAINT.
Sergey Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 O-key, guys. The main problem is not about the paint. Mostly it's about air bubbles between cab and decal. I guess the photos are fail to show how bad it looks. Or may be I am just perfectionist.
Legorigs Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I love the work you're doing on the Cruiseliner. Maybe you can use your decals to make some templates for the paintjob by tracing the lines on paper or some other material.
Sergey Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 Thank you Daniel. I guess I have to do this way.
Sergey Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 (edited) A litle progress on the engine: Edited October 29, 2014 by Sergey
Tony Bryan Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Sergey Nice job on the engine, the fan belts look great, and there is nothing wrong with being a perfectionist, and this is the closest I have seen to it http://www.henribaigent.org/Ferrari/ferrari.htm make sure you read the story, as this man far out does the famous Mr Wingrove, not to say that Gerald Wingrove does make a beautiful model, Henry Baigent does it with more detail enjoy
Sticks Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I am gob smacked at the amount of detail is in this build. As I am scrolling down the page, reading all post's and comments, I'm sitting here shaking my head in disbelief thinking to myself how many hours of research and bench time that has gone into this. What an amazing job you have done Sergey, well done.
Chuck Most Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Really liked the XJ220 in MCM 162, then I happen to run across this buildup. Wow! Glad to see somebody doing this old girl justice.
2 Sticks & Chuck Most: Thank you guys for your comments. Didn't know that XJ220 article published already.

You know, the only language I can't read or understand is Greek. So I understand english and french, all the rest is Greek to me...

I am using google chrome as a browser so it is very easy to translate every thing. I was meaning that it would be better for the board and the other members to use English to understand each other. I can't recal but I think there is a board rulle about the language we are using. Kostas.
