Bruno Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Well, I think it's a 1963, no year mentioned on the box. It's the Tamiya kit. I built this one for my girlfriend, she always said she would like to have an old Mini, she never mentioned the scale... She said she wanted it in dark blue, with white roof and the british flag on it. So here it is;
cazxr2 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Very nice so realistic. Love it. I have one if these in the stash might have to drag ot out.
Dave Ambrose Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I like it. I need to build one of these.
Bruno Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Build'em guys, this is a nicely detailed kit and fun to build!
Guest Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Beautiful Mini Bruno! I have one posted here, back quite a few pages I am sure. What color did you use? Very nice work!
John Teresi Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Bruno......this build is super cool........your girl has to be happy about this......giving anybody a hand built gift from the heart......is the best gift of all.....great job man.
Modelmartin Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Great job on the Mini. The Tamiya kit is based on the 67 Monte Carlo winner. It is a Mark I Mini Cooper 1275 S so I would say 64 to 67. The Mark II production started in 67 and the only visible change was the outline of the grille and a bigger rear window.
Sixties Sam Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 It's a beauty! Looks real! The second photo looks like a real Mini sitting along a snowy road. Well done photos and model! Sam
HotRodaSaurus Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 The Union Flag looks wrong. I don't usually bother picking people up on points like this but as I am from the UK A bit like flying a rebel flag upside down. Model looks good though J

It's actually a post January 1965 bodyshell on the Tamiya kit, before then there was no safety boss fitted on the doors, there was a few other things as well,
Eshaver Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 From what I remember of those Morris Minors, they really didn't change very much as merican cars did . Nice job . Ed Shaver

Bruno Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Thanks everyone! The Union Flag looks wrong. I don't usually bother picking people up on points like this but as I am from the UK A bit like flying a rebel flag upside down. Model looks good though J It's a pic I got while searching on Google images, and among all the flags that showed there, I choose one that is wrong...
davyou5 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 mmmm... A Double Quarter Pounder.... Oh, B) , Well whether or not the Flag is wrong I still think it is an Excellent Build!
