Wagoneer81 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Tim, your builds never cease to amaze me, you truly are a master builder! This is a beautiful truck! Where did you source the round headlight buckets. I need a set for a 359 Condo Conversion I'm working on and I need pointed in the right direction...
mackinac359 Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 That's the kit grille screen - molded on. Early 359's ('67 until '69) had the 2 bar grille (to disguise the wide grille as the chief engineer at the time didn't like the looks of the wide hood, the 2 bars were to keep the hood from looking too wide - the problem was that the 2 bars weren't strong enough to keep the bug screen from blowing in at highway speeds so a third bar was added.. and The Look began). The AMT kit has the original style grille. The 3-bar grille from the AMT T501 Peterbilt 359 will fit just fine to update to the 3 bar grille. Tim Nicely done. Is that a bug screen on the front of the grill?
