impcon
I just received my resin '57 Ford Country Squire wagon body in resin - NICE BODY!! I am really happy with it! What I need to know is this - does anyone reproduce the old Revell Squire wagon decal sheet or does anyone make woodgrain decals for wagons? Painting the woodgrain to make it look even close to correct will be an effort in frustration, I am sure so I thought that I would post and ask. Maybe seems like a dumb question but I have to ask.. Failing decals being available, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make the woodgrain look right? The real wagons had lines running through the woodgrain to simulate boards.. I am not that hung up on authenticity but it would be nice to have those lines in the panels. Thanks in advance. trogdor
I know contact paper is available in simulated wood grain patterns. Not sure how it would transfer to scale though. http://www.contactpaper.net/ Edited January 15, 2011 by trogdor
The Creative Explorer
if you find the '65 lincoln kit from AMT, you can find a decal sheet with a large woodgrain pattern decal. As it is for a '65 lincoln, it is long enough for every car and it is not cut to size, it is just one big square decal.

There are plenty of woodgrain type decals that could possibly be used for this.Check ebay and Strada Sports.
