Dr. Cranky Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 Thanks, Joe. Stay tuned in for more fun vids in the coming days and weeks.
bigmikevee Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Hey Doctor Cranky, Thanks for your tutorials, been working with my airbrush (same one you have, what a stroke of luck!!) and just practicing and practicing and practicing some more. For those who are really having trouble grasping airbrushing, well, the good Doctor is here to cure what ails ya!! Practice, you will get better, don't give up, because the end results are worth it. Shoot spoons and paper, (cheapest way to get started) you will get the hang of it. Thanks Cranky for taking the time to film and post, know it is a lot of work on your end, and a lot of us are very appreciative!! Mike
paul alflen Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 DEAR DR. CRANKEY, I BEEN TAKING MY AIR BRUSH EVERYWHERE WITH ME . NOW MY WIFE IS ENVIOUS THAT I SPEND MORE TIME WITH THE AIR BRUSH THAN HER.WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW???
Carmikeman Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 uuuhhh, i thought everyone slept with their airbrush under their pillow. wear earmuffs!!! lol great vids.
shatteredsoul76 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Thanks for taking the time to film and share all of your videos, I know they are helping me out alot. I just picked up a Paasche D3000 and a Paasche VL airbrush and I need all the help I can get. As soon as my regulator comes in Ill be practicing non-stop and have no doubts that Ill get there eventually.
Thor Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 This is great. I`m waiting for my first airbrush, a Iwata HP c Plus. One question, can you shoot regular automotive metalic paint (like PPG, DuPont) through the 0,3 nozzle or do i need a larger tip
Dr. Cranky Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 Yes, you should be able to but flakes even HOK rainbo flakes are tough unless you thin down considerably.
935k3 Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Thanks Doc for the videos, they are fun to watch. I have allot of experience but I still enjoy watching other's techniques.
spad007 Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Thank You. i have only watched the intro but I look forward to seeing the rest. I have a old Binks the cup is a bit rough chrome separating. I wish that i had some, plastic bag cup liners like the big boys it would save some cleaning...any one??
Evil Appetite Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Hi Doc...I've been spending the day watching your videos. Especially the Airbrushing Basics series...I might have missed one though. Did you do one on laying down paint on your model in that series?
Tom Setzer Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Virgil Your videos are just what the guys that are starting to use an airbrush need to help them. I use Paasche Airbrushes myself, as they are what I have used for over 50 years, ever since I got my forst one as an eigth birthday present. My Grandfather taught me how to paint models and military figures, starting when I was about seven years old. I presently own 3 Paasche H models, 2 VLs, 1 Talon Gravity feed, 1 Talon Siphone feed, I use all of them in my painting. CHEERS! Tom
VooDooCC Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 I was looking through your airbrush videos and in the one titled "AIRBRUSHING BASICS: SET UP & PRACTICE" you make mention of a formula that is acrylic artist ink, something, and distilled water. What is the second ingredient? Thanks in advance.
