I am fixing to build my dream model. A 1970 Dodge Charger using AMT's F&F Charger as a base and resin parts from Modelhaus. Any pointers on how to go about building a dream model?

RESEARCH!!!!! Do you research before you begin! Make sure that you have everything you need before you start and take your time and work carefully. Keep pictures of the 1:1 handy for reference. Good luck!

DONT do any research

your building YOUR dream model, not Ma Mopars dream model

so if you like the 68 tail with the 69 front panel, go for it

dont put on anything you are not 100% pleased with, if you have a set of rims in mind get THAT set of rims, dont get something that is close, era correct or factory stock, build it the way YOU want it

Treat each and every piece of the model, as a model in itself. Carefully clean up rough edges, sink marks etc. Then if possible add detail to the part. This could be done by replacing raised detail with photo etch, 3d decals, etc. Do a lot of searching to see what kind of after market "goodies" are available for your project. Take your time when painting and use good quality paints and supplies. If your curious about how something may have been on that car, ask here before you guess. You'll get tons of knowledgeable answers. Hope this helps.

A little research is okay, but a little too much will certianly lead you to the conclusion it cannot be done.

This is a tough one. I've been wrestling with this very idea for some time now. For me, the problem I have is the big question, "Are my skills there yet, to do the dream car?". To answer that for myself. Nope not yet. I still need to learn the mind knumbing paint skills. So the kit sits, waiting. But I'm cool with that, for now. I'm working on it.

A man visiting New York stopped and asked a local street musician, "How do I get to Carnagie Hall?"

The musician lowered his horn and said, "Practice man, practice."
