Chuck Most Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Yeah, I think I'm out of my rut! I don't think I need to explain WHAT I'm doing, so here's the how... I got the 'Bee from Eric Stone in a trade- he'd cut the trans tunnel out of the chassis. I trimmed what was left down and also trimmed the bottom of the backseat. With that, the Pro Street chassis fit flush against the Monaco interior tub, and settled into the body like it was made to be there. The 'Bee's wheelbase didn't even need adjustment for the Monaco body, aside from the aformentioned mods, it's totally OOB! I'm also using the 'Bee's engine bay, probably not correct for this car, but looks a LOT better than the MPC promo bay, anyhow. Eventually It'll play host to a Plum Crazy paint job and a blown Mopar 440, but I'm tackling the HARD stuff first!
Tumbler75 Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Totally rad idea and excellent execution so far! Lookin' good. Keep them updates comin'! I'm watchin' for sure.
Bama Bill Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Sweet. I like different and off the wall cars. It would be sinister with a mild chop and painted flat black.
Chuck Most Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 Sorry Bill, not this time. But I do have something similar in mind for a MOnaco later on!The interior was actually done in the last post, here's a shot of it. I used the SB seats, a gauge cluster, and the rest is all Monaco. The Hurst ratched came from a Revell '67 Chevelle pro street.
RodneyBad Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Awesome Combo. Gonna use the DOHC Hemi? It's a Pro-Street, Any Engine Compartment will do and look waaaaaaaay better than what ya had.
Eric Stone Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Sweet! I'm glad the hacking I did wasn't a hindrance. I guess you won't be needing the extra Bee decals I had that I threw in.
Jantrix Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I've used that chassis before as well under an MPC 67 Charger. It took about five minutes of triming to make it fit perfectly. Great platform.
diymirage Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 CAUSE IM PCP IM DYNAMITE PCP AND ILL WIN THE FIGHT PCP IM A POWERLOAD i likes it
Railfreak78 Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I had this idea go through my mind for one of my 2 doors. You have my attention! Looks good so far with the color and everything looks right
