Guest JamesDE Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Started workin on this one a while back, and chopped the top a few days ago, still needs some cleanup, but its getting there...And today I got most of the interior done as well...
Dr. Cranky Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I am liking the interior and the chop looks good. Can't wait to see more.
Guest JamesDE Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Thanks guys... Rob, the interior is Rustoleum Vinyl and Fabric Tan and brown flocking
RodneyBad Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Great looking Chop. Interior is looking good.
Guest JamesDE Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Did a little more body work on this one....
made007 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 how can i achieve that look in the interior, is that flocking?
Guest JamesDE Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Jose, it is flocking, You want to paint the interior as close to the color of flocking as possible. Then I take elmers glue and brush it on the areas I want flocked and then put the flocking in a strainer and let it snow over the area. I usually use Ken's Kustom Fuzzy Fur.
LAone Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 nice chop top rivi. i dig the old school look. looks like something out of boulevard knights. i have one of these kits. horrible chassis detail though. just a tip on flocking, go to micheals and look for martha stewarts flocking and embosing powder. cant go wrong with the price and quantity compared to others. its what i used in my celica build. i mixed black and pewter and got a direct match to what toyota uses for carpet.
Guest JamesDE Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Thanks bro on that tip... Ive heard of Embossing powder, just never tried it... Ill hit up Micheal's and pick some up.... Is that Martha Stewart Flocking just one color or is there different colors as well??
LAone Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) no prob. yeah theres different colors. i think at the time, i even saw some flouresent color.. but yeah, plenty enough for different styles. Edited February 16, 2011 by LAone
Guest JamesDE Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Im definitely goin to stock up on some now.... I've got a ton of Kens Fuzzy Fur, but Im always tryin to keep my self stocked up on stuff....
Dr. Cranky Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I like the modifications to the front. This one is going to stand out and be classy. Keep it going.
Guest JamesDE Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Thanks brother.... I appreciate that....
Guest JamesDE Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Got the grill done... Took some square rod and cut each piece and rounded each piece out to make them work... I think it looks alright.... Looking for some feedback on it....
made007 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 that grill is gonna be alcladed? its gonna look killer
Erik Smith Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 The grill kind of looks like a chubby guy with bad teeth. It doesn't seem to go with the rest of the build - which looks kind of mean and sinister. Great job on the body mods. Maybe with some paint the grill will have a different look.
george 53 Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Sorry, but I gotta agree with the Coyote. The grill looks like funny teeth. Doesn't really "Flow" with the lines of the car. The car IS sleek, but the grill just doesn't seem to match the cars lines. But hey bro, that's just my opinion, if YOU like it, well, THAT'S all that counts! But I tell ya that's one good lookin ride! I like it so far(with the exception of the grill)
Iron Fist Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Grill takes away from the rest of the car, looks like it ought to be in the movie Cars. Your build looks mean, I think it would look good with a billet grill, see link. http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/hrdp_0912_1965_buick_riviera/index.html
made007 Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 jus throw some alclad on that grill, if you dont like it do another, but i think it might look killer
evilone Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 looks sweet bro but idk about that grill its bulky imo. but its your build do it up your way
brett Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I'ld like to see it with that same grill cut down to say 2mm widths with even spacing, paint could change everything but as said it looks a bit clunky as is, but its your build ,you're the one has to be happy with it.
Guest JamesDE Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Thanks fellas... I havent really done anything with this lately... I should be back on it in the next few days or so... tryin not to get burned out on this one...
