Looking for Hints Using Surgical Tape for Ineriors

I've seen some really nice looking upholstery jobs using surgical tape that is then painted with acrylic. You don't improve your building skills unless ou try something new. So, I want to give this a try myself. I would welcome any process hints or suggestions. Thanks.

Alex Kustov has a good tutorial on using surgical tape for headliners, and I suppose the same techniques apply to seats. He also mentions textured paper from Model Factory Hiro, but I can't find them. If you need patterns, you can create them on your computer and print them out on inkjet cloth available at craft stores.
