camarobuilder Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 My curio is full, and I'm looking for a way to display the 1/25 W900 Kenworth I'm building. I have several of the clear acrylic cases for 1/25 cars. I was wondering if anyone knows if they make these for 1/25 scale trucks? It's only got to be big enough for the tractor. Frank
ra7c7er Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 They make cases in all sorts of sizes. I know a football display cases works well for trucks. look around on this site I have used them before http://www.casesforcollectibles.com/

ZIL 111V Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Testors did make 1/25th Tractor Truck(1/18 DieCast PickUp) display cases at very reasonable price. Italeri also made display cases for their 1/24th truck kits, waaaaaaaay back in the 80's, pretty rare ones.
crazyjim Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) Get over to Lowe's or Home Depot and purchase some 1/8" thick plexiglas and clear silicone caulk. Cut the plexi to the size needed, tape the outside corner with blue painters tape, silicone the inside corner. Let the caulk set up, square it up and cut the top to fit on top. Tape and caulk. Actually the first step is the base. 1" by whatever width and use a router to put on an edge. Then cut the plexi to fit those dimensions. I'll soon be making one for the Peterbilt 359 dragging a car hauler trailer - gonna be about 36" long. Edited February 14, 2011 by crazyjim
Ron W. Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I use 1/4 Plexi-glass,and polish the edges, then use the brass corner pieces(from the hardware dept),and put it all together. You can build a wood base first then have the plastic shop cut the pieces to size, and have them polish the edges for you. I cut mine with a saber saw using a fine blade, then use #400 grit over a block of wood, then go to a finer grit like #2000. Use wet/dry sandpaper, and use it with water.I'm making a cover for this right now. I want to keep it nice. The article behind it was from a national magazine written about the build. .
