Moparlady Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 I finished this one about a month ago. Built from the new Model King release. A few little modifications but otherwise box stock. I opened up grille area and installed mesh screen for a bit more realism. Also some Detail Master headlight screens. The engine isn't all that detailed but I added some ignition wiring and battery cables (just had to!). Bare metal foil chrome and black chrome foil side trim. I robbed the stock hubcaps from another kit and made some front hubs thru the caps. Then some light weathering all around. I made some license plates for it too....Idaho "Big Spud". Thanks for looking.
mhadman Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 perfect!! just enough dirt to show this is a real truck and not a parking lot beauty>> excellent work
Steve H. Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Hey Shannon, Good to see you on the board! Nice truck, looks like its seen a few miles!
Bluzboy66 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 The light weathering is perfect. You knew exactly when to say when! Very nice. I just purchased that kit, and I'm trying to decide which direction to go with it. I'm thinking of shortening the wheelbase. Mike
ismaelg Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Very nice weathering! and very glad to see you here..... Thanks,
dukeaholic Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I like your work too!!! Looks very realistic!!! I have been looking for a kit like that for years with still no luck. If anyone has one of these they would like to part with, Please, PM me!!!!!!
Moparlady Posted March 26, 2007 Author Posted March 26, 2007 Thanks for the comments guys! This kit was recently issued by AMT/Model King, so it should still be easily available if anyone's looking to build one.
bsoder Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 That has the perfect look the little details and the subtle weathering are just right..super nice build ....B
