meaneyme Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Just won this off e-bay today, has anyone here built one of these? I need some ideas please.
Harry P. Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 You placed the winning bid and obviously wanted it... but you don't have any idea what to do with it?
SuperStockAndy Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I don't know. But hey, you won't have to glue the gas pedal, it already sticks!
meaneyme Posted March 10, 2011 Author Posted March 10, 2011 You placed the winning bid and obviously wanted it... but you don't have any idea what to do with it? I know Harry, sounds kind of dumb but, the reason for the question is that I have a friend that has a few of these in his house and after seeing his collection, I went out and got one, I just thought I could see a few built to get some ideas since the wheels on the kit are not very atractive. I am just wondering how would it look with different rims or different styles of building?
Rob Hall Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Googling turns up some examples of build styles of 1:1 early '70s Corollas like this..
Erik Smith Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Pretty basic curbside kit. Take a look at Japanese nostalgic sites to get some ideas - or just build it the way you think is cool.
cruz Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 I built 2 of these in different styles, one as something you usually see in the streets of Puerto Rico and another one as a drag/street racer. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
Danno Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Just won this off e-bay today, has anyone here built one of these? I need some ideas please. Got a spare Allison engine sittin' around? Or a pod racer jet engine? Extra Viper V10? Ideas abound.
seeker589 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 (edited) That would make a really cool Autocross or entry level road-racer with a little work - Cage, harness, lowering with racing decals. Do a web search for Improved touring scca. Edited March 10, 2011 by seeker589
Bruno Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 But hey, you won't have to glue the gas pedal, it already sticks!
meaneyme Posted March 10, 2011 Author Posted March 10, 2011 Use a descriptive thread title? Avoid it if it bothers you so much?
