Adam deCoste Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) I just got a 77ish MPC Pinto wagon 2n1 off ebay for $42 plus $10 shipping, its the original issue and is still factory sealed.Smart or stupid? Edited March 21, 2011 by Adam deCoste
highway Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I don't know the kit, but that doesn't sound bad for a factory sealed kit. I've seen (and lost bids on ) much newer kits for much more money!
Keef Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 you gave more for the kit than the real car was worth when it was new LMAO
Adam deCoste Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 hehe i will take a pic of it when it gets here
Adam deCoste Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 i felt like a got a fair deal and now i know i did lol
shucky Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Nice kit and pretty fair deal. I have one myself tucked away in the archives.
rick6343 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I've had one of those for a while now that's complete enough to build. Doesn't look too shabby; I guess I'm just looking for inspiration to build it.
Ben Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I like to think of the amount of fun I'll have in owning and building the kit. Is the fun your going to have worth a measly 43.00?!
Chuck Most Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Call me a total chump, but I'd have been happy paying a LOT more for that kit... even though I'd just chop it up into a Bobcat Woody!
Adam deCoste Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 there were a few 76 pinto hatch backs runing on ebay also for around the same price
paul alflen Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) I PAID ABOUT 40.00FOR ONE OF THOSE IN THE EARLY 90'S I THINK IT WAS 1993. YOU GOT A GOOD DEAL! IF IT WAS EVER REISSUED IT WOULD BE 20.00-TO 25.00 AT A HOBBY SHOP. SO $52 SHIPPED IS A.O.K. Edited March 21, 2011 by paul alflen
george 53 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Yup, you gotta a pretty good deal. They USUALLY go for a good bit NORTH of 50 bucks!
shucky Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 You know, even though I have one of these I enlarged the wheel openings slightly because I was going to build a drag version (back in the day). I've always thought this kit would be awesome in resin. Hint hint to anyone listening...
Guest Johnny Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 For some reason I don't remember that one. Just the Pinto Panel!
george 53 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Johnny, that was called the Pinto Cruzin Van. I got one . I traded the other one to one of our Forum Brothers.
Doughnut Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 It's a kit that I've always wanted because my first real car was that Pinto wagon! Mine was red with the paneled sides and it had a factory four on the floor. Funny thing is that I bought the 1:1 car back in 1982 for $50, and now the model is exceding it!
Guest Johnny Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Johnny, that was called the Pinto Cruzin Van. I got one . I traded the other one to one of our Forum Brothers. My cousin had a 1:1 version of the panel. He bought it new. Still had it when we moved from down there in 1992. We had stuffed it with a 302, 5 speed not long before. I had a 1:1 Pinto wagon! Liked the car but with the automatic it could barely get out of it's own way! Thinking the wagon model may have came out while I was working for Uncle Sam!
montelsc Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 bought one 2 years ago i payed about 32.00 for it i havent even opened it yet still sealed. I dont know what i want to do with it yet
