Iron Fist Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 A few firsts for me on this one: First RatRod, chop, weathering (bare steel), diy decals, and wiring on a 1/25, oh and probably the most fun. Thanks for looking. Justin
Duntov Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Justin: Certainly a home run on this one!!! I like it because it actually looks like you could drive it and the finish is great......great work....thanks for sharing!!!! Regards Bill (Duntov)
John Teresi Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Justin........I agree ......you hit this one out of the ball park........AWESOME job ......great work buddy.,
Dr. Cranky Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Wow, that's an interesting paint job. I like it. Great detail throughout.
Iron Fist Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 Thanks for all the comments and critiques, darn macro functions on the cameras bring everything out, lol.
walt francis Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 BRAVO !!!!!for a first you did a great job and it is always good to push that comfort zone each time,
outlaw035 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 justin...awesome job man...i to luv the paint job...and dont worry about the spark plug wires its a ratrod and u can do anything u want with it...
Iron Fist Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) Ya, I know I should of spent more time on the plug wires, and realized it after the first few but I just went with it, critiques always welcome and thanks for the comments. Edited March 23, 2011 by Iron Fist
DiscoSpud Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Awesome chop! i love how you can see the obivous part lines and where the welds have been done, A true rat rod mate! Nice work! Plug wires are tricky but what I do is use fine guage coloured wire from the hobby store, glue it at the dizzy cap end and the plug port ends, let it settle in a harden then bend them into shape. I'm not s tickler for little things though, I give it 10/10
stewart Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Love the old beat up rod with a brand shiny new Hemi. Nice build. STewart
bigmikevee Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Hey Justin, For a model that has a lot of first for you, it looks like it was built by an old pro, very, very nice, love the way it all came together. This is one sick ride, and that is a compliment!! This is so cool, thanks for sharing with us, can't wait to see what you do next! Mike
Mooneyzs Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Very Cool build..... That thing looks fantastic. Gives me some motivation to get back to doing a little work on my '32 Rat Rod I started last year
Agent G Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Nicely done. How did you get that big honking Hemi in that lil bitty frame? What ever you did looks good to me. I'd have approached the bare metal finish differently, yet you pulled it off well. G
Trae Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Very nicely done! And if you don't mind another tip ... A little blackwash on those headers to give it some "shadow" would do wonders for the realism.
bsoder Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Thanks for all the comments and critiques, darn macro functions on the cameras bring everything out, lol. man ain't that the truth!!..I was going to comment that the motor looked awfully clean for a hot rod but then as I looked some more I thought it looked pretty good that way!
