I can't find anyone locally that carries Testor's semi-gloss black (including Hobby Town, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels). None of those places even has a spot for it in their paint racks. I am forced to buy it on the web. Simply amazing.

I am having the same problem with flat black acrylic from testors, can only find it in enamel.

They do have a semi-gloss in the model master acrylic jar paint. The big jars.

ive always used Krylon Semi Gloss Black, works just as good and you get 3-4 times the paint for half the price of a can of Testors

Get a different brand. There are a lot of semi-gloss blacks out there, mostly in spray cans. Krylon, Rustoleum, etc., etc.

If you want it in a spray can, like Harry said, there are a lot of brands out there that has satin black, but if you want brush paint, I recommend Humbrol satin black #85, that is if your local hobby shop sells Humbrol paints of course...

If that isn't an option, get Tamiya's semi gloss black (X-18 if I remember correctly), I started using that about 5 years ago and I won't use anything else!

Testors model master paints have a satin black but they call it "black chrome trim"

Yea i know the issue very well, working on one project and the interior is just that semi gloss black. I tried the clean semi gloss stuff and had no luck with it. Went back to my local hobby shop and found the jar version. Good stuff. I hardly use Testors stuff myself though. I mostly use other brands. LOL

I have the same problem, can't never find the darn things in the Hobby Store either. I do have the flat black and usually what I do is add some gloss clear until I get the right shade.
