Jim B Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 (edited) Rumor has it that the 40ft exterior post van is supposed to be reissued. Do know how true that is, though. Edited May 23, 2011 by Jim B
Jim B Posted July 14, 2011 Author Posted July 14, 2011 Well, it's finally done! I added the last details to it yesterday, and snapped some outside pics after work. I printed up some New Jersey tractor license plates onto some photo paper, and I added the antennas that I made from 24awg steel wire. I replaced the exhaust stack with aluminum tube which polished up really nice. Unfortunately that wasn't the look I was going for, but I had to get the scratches from the cutter out of the tubing. Oh well.
Jim B Posted July 14, 2011 Author Posted July 14, 2011 Looks good Jim, nice job I like it Thanks, Anthony.
Jim B Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 Thanks, John. It's Testors Gloss Red #1203 over a Dupli-Color Red Primer #1694.
69A-CAR Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Very nice Mack Jim! The detail is quite nice and I seem to remember seeing plenty of those APA Macks running around here in the past. Mark
BigBad Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I see this Mack has been treated well! The turn out is pretty darned good. I like the spoked wheels, they fit this truck better than the aluminum discs. Looks just right. I built one R600 some years back with the kit's aluminum rims and it didn't look right, too much bling this side of a Kenworth! Good lookin' dog!
Jim B Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 Thanks, Robert. The spokes are from Daniel at Plaskit. They're really nice. I have another set to use on my Matlack Cruiseliner.
