Wheaties #3

Hello all....First time I've posted in NASCAR section. I would like to share some pix of my #3 Wheaties car I built back in 1999. I was actually at that race (The Winston '97). That was the race Jeff Gordon dominated in the Jurassic Park red car, to be later banned from any Nascar event.

Not superdetailed, but I love it. Hope you enjoy. Thanks for looking!

OK what was banned from any Nascar event. Jurassic park car? Thats the first I ever heard about that. Do you happen to know why? BTW very nice Wheaties car..........

Thanks Dwight.....I think NASCAR told Ray Evernham not to bring the chassis back, found an article at link below. I don't know if that was ever confirmed....just always heard it was true.

Thanks....I mixed the orange as close to the middle of a Wheaties box and a 1/64 Racing Champions, then airbrushed. I think I painted the chassis ModelMasters Comp Orange.

I've been away from NASCAR building for quite some time, though I have noticed only older downforce cars in hobby shops. I guess thats all available to build anymore, would like to build one again...guess it will have to be an older one?

There are Revell kits that cover 01-06, you have to pick them up at shows or online. Revell stopped making NASCAR kits, that is why you don't see them restocked at hobby shops. I build primarily NASCAR, plan on starting to share them here.

I am a diehard NASCAR fan......but I mostly build drag cars only, just fascinated with how they look. If I bought one of those 01-06 kits, I would probably try cutting it up to match what they are racing now....lol. Got several drag cars going right now and really need to finish them. Maybe later this year.

Post some of your builds, I'm sure everyone would enjoy looking them over!
