Old Coyote
... owned by Junior Johnson and driven by Terry Labonte ..... 1988 brought changes to the car ..... no more chrome wheels (which had been outlawed by Nascar), silver grills and headlight covers, black spoiler, and Banquet as the major secondary sponsor
dwc43
Nice looking aero coupes. I always loved those cars. Made them look a little more racey than that stock coupes. Remember the demise of the chrome wheel too. They did that because the chrome was so slick the tries would spin or slip on the rim causing failures. Those chrome powder coated wheels they use today sure look good though. Almost as good as the old chrome and without the danger. Wonder why it took so long for someone to start using it. Eric Stone
Great looking car, and a great looking model of it. Good job.
bbowser
Very clean builds. I kinda like the black wheels, look more menacing. They have caught on with the street car crowd too.

The chrome wheels would also throw their wheel weights, and at those high speeds they were just like bullets

I run short tracks and it's a contact sport. We put the wheel weights on the inside of the rims so you can't rub them off on another car. Even at a buck 20 they can still cause trouble. Railfreak78
Great looking Monte Carlos. The Bud ones that Terry and Darrell drove were some of my favorites even though I don't like the Beer. When I build one I'll be happy if it comes out half as good as yours
