cherokeered Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Anyone know how to properly lower this one? The rear looks pretty simple but the front end looks more difficult. I've heard you need to narrow the front beams but that would mean cutting into the front nose compartment so the shock tower will fit correct? Does it really need to be narrowed and how can I actually lower the front end?

So do I need to narrow the beam though. I've seen others do this but it would require cutting into the storage compartment of the front end... Edited April 20, 2011 by cherokeered
Craig Irwin Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 On 1:1 VW's the beams are narrowed to bring the tires in under the taller part of the fenders, that allows the car to be lowered further. The bug can be lowered without narrowing the beam, but tire clearance may be an issue.
