Some sanding to the body. It's getting shape, and now it's ready for the final primer, I think. I sanded the putties smooth and then I found some reason to sand from next to right side B- pillar. But now i must paint some primer tomorrow, if the weather is good.

Thanks, Brett! It looks like, I can lay the final primer today, because the weather looks good enough... Chassis is still on the starting line, but when I got some paint there, I'll continue. Hope to get this one finished on the summer vacation. ;)

Now I have the final primer on. It's looking smooth now, and painting is the next step... Maybe I would paint some other parts too, like the hood for my '57 Bel Air. But let's see, when I paint it with spray gun. ;)

It's slowly getting ready for paint, but before painting, I did one very important thing. I built "frame" or what that thing is called for rear window. I'll make it from acetate and now it will be lots of easier to install, and it will look lots of better. I glued styrene strips to the body, they will tell, where the window goes, and then some styrene on it, so the window can't come off. Hope it works, I've seen better builders making this one, and they have done it correctly, but don't know, where this ends....

Got the body and chassis painted. Both are now dark red. I like the color. It's straight from spray can, maybe good clearcoat and polishing will make it look good... I also painted some other chassis parts, but there's nothing special to show, yet. I'm trying to continue it soon, this may be finished pretty fast...

Engine is now glued to subframe (or what it is called...), which is painted gloss black, and springs are silver... Next I'm going to paint the inner fenders, and other engine bay parts, so I can glue them to that frame and then it's ready for installing to chassis. Those seperate inner fenders, firewall etc. make engine bay detailing lots of easier, than it would be of those parts should be molded to body...

Thanks, Hugh! It's coming slowly but surely... Still needs to paint some parts before I can get them on their place... And some other things to do as well before I can continue the chassis. But it's coming along and I'm happy about it.

Bumble Bee stripe is now installed. Maybe tomorrow I can spray some clear on it, and then polishing. This might be my next finished model, because it's so close now. Hope that there comes no any problems in final assembly....

Thanks Mike, I'm trying to keep pictures coming about the progress...

Yesterday body got some clear. It will protect the decal when polishing the body. Still pretty good paintjob, it's smooth and bit shiny too, but needs polishing, I'd like to try that thing. But next coming up is the chassis.

Not much done, but something anyway... I sanded the top of the dash smooth (where I put some bondo). Then I painted it with semi-gloss black. The wooden part needs to be still cleared with orange clear and there's some other adjustments left to do on it. Tomorrow I'll finally paint engine bay parts red, if the weather is good. Hope to have this finished maybe next week....

Finally managed to get those engine bay parts painted red from both sides. Also painted the hood from other side. Tomorrow I will polish the body and put that engine bay together, hopefully.

Thanks, Luis! I have a question about the hood scoops. Were they painted body color, or black? I'm thinking the body color, but can't be sure about it. I'd like to hear the answer before I paint them.

Thanks, Mike for the info! James, it's repainted, and now it's waiting still polishing. Had no time for it, but I was working on the engine bay detailing. And Virgil, thank you too!

So some detailing on the engine bay. I detailed the battery first. I removed some details, which were molded on to the battery. Then added some photo etch parts, and also some scratchbuilt parts, like the bracket. Cables are Scale Dreams' stuff. Also I added alternator wires. They are made from Detail Master's Detail wire, and Detail master's Racing ignition wire. Then I added heater hoses. I drilled holes for them to the firewall.

Also some exhaust pipe work. They are painted silver and no modifications needed on them, exept the exhaust tips. I did saw them off from other pipes and drilled holes for them. After all work, they fit fine. Next step, some BMF to the gas tank brackets and then on four wheels.

I installed rear axle and front axle system, tires, springs, propeller shaft etc. Now chassis needs only shocks. I also added brake lines. Brake master cylinder is from parts box, and I drilled holes for the lines, so they were lots of easier to install. And I installed the radiator wall, radiator and horn too. They didn't fit so nicely, but the end result is ok. Made water hoses. Installed wheels and tires.... Also painted the wooden part from the dash, it only needs some clear yellow, and detail painting and then I can install the steering wheel, which is also painted right now. I'll polish the body later today, so there might be coming another update. Stay tuned for more to come.

Yeah, got the body polished and started the work with BMF. I haven't pics yet about the BMF anyway. Also finished the interior. Some clear orange to wooden parts and then just some detail painting. Steering wheel doesn't look right, but hope it doesn't matter too much from the finished model. Also I cut the rear window from acetate. It fits nicely, after I have installed foiling to body, I'll glue glass parts.

Allright. I got the body foiled. It took quite long time, but I'm pretty happy about the end result. Next I'm going to glue the glass parts, and then I must paint those little parts before body assembly. While the parts are drying, maybe I could continue '57 Chevy build, from Monogram.
