Turtle Wax plastic model kit wax

I have a Monogram 1/8th scale '82 Corvette Coupe and on the box it says it comes with Turtle Wax brand plastic model kit wax. The little packet is still in the box and it got me wondering if the wax was ever actually a real product or just a gimmick for the kit.

So the question is; Was Turtle Wax plastic model kit wax ever a real commercial product?

MONOGRAM, HAD A DEAL W/TURTLE WAX AT THAT TIME. SOME 1/24TH MONOGRAM MODELS MENTIONED THAT ALSO ON THE BOXES.

Never heard of Turtle Wax for model cars. I still use The Treatment Model Car Wax, if that helps.
