Casey Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Thanks for posting this. It's always nice to see and hear about other who are into 1/16 scale drag racing subjects. I really liked this quote, too- "I'd rather have one authentic model on my shelf than a cabinet full of approximations."

He certainly has his priorities right.

Scratchbuilding a fuel valve/pump in 1/16 is impressive, but 30+ pieces is borderline crazy. I can't even fathom how much patience it would take to do such a thing in 1/25 scale.
Howard Cohen Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Although I don't build like that, I am always in awe of those who do. Thanks for the link.
Cato Posted April 29, 2011 Author Posted April 29, 2011 ... how much patience it would take to do such a thing in 1/25 scale. I'd need a microscope and neuro-surgery tools! But truly I think, given a high skill level, success at this only comes from thorough and accurate research. And knowing how the 1:1 parts work and their functions. I admire his skill and work ethic.
AZ Boy Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 That engine was awesome! You better believe that I saved those two pics to my reference photo collection. THATS how a nitro motor's supposed to look like! Aaron
