And you know sometimes that's enough. I don't know if this happens to you folks but sometimes I just want to build something simple and with less parts.

Quite often to tell the truth. Every now and then I just want to build a straight out of the box build. I was just surprised that it was so simple, and yet called a full detail...

Marshall, you have reminded me of another factor (and perhaps another one of Doctor Cranky's confessions). Sometimes I pick up a kit and it says over 150 parts, and it turns me off. I say to myself (or to EYEGORE, if he's not out chasing another fire hydrant!): Do I really want to get this involved with a kit?

Chasing fire hydrants?:D If I see a fire hydrant running from Eyegore I'm gonna be checking myself into the happy hotel...:)

150 parts? Yessiree bob!!!

Every now and again I do like those easy, low count, 0 calorie kits... Keeps me from becoming a postal worker...

I hope more people pay homage to their CHEZOOMS here! The more I look at these beauties the more I get inspired to build another.

Nicely done, Virgil! The flip-flop paint really "fits" this car. B)

And the Ricky Couch version you mentioned is still around and in good hands. I'll try to get some pics when I get the chance. :D

Oh yeah, I love it. I was lucky I got to see that one and a whole bunch of other of Ricky's great builds at the show in Birmingham, I think it as 2006 or 2007.

Yep, 2007 it was. :(

Thank you. Actually, the build is box stock except for a couple of little details I put on the interior, like the mesh covering the speaker grills, etc . . .

Like I said, it's a beautiful kit, but I think it's hard to find. Also, if I'm not mistaken, there are two versions. One with an engine, and a curbside.

It also reminds me of how much I enjoyed the Boyd Coddington show a few years ago before he died. He had Charly, the painter, who did these amazing paint jobs . . . I think he's working for Chip Foose these days . . .

I can confirm that for you mate, he works for foose along with a couple of the other guys. Foose is my idol. I wanna build a replica of his truck
